Notification Under S.198-202 UK Companies Act

A notice has been received from Fidelity Management & Research on behalf of
itself and its subsidiary companies and Fidelity International Ltd and its
direct and indirect subsidiary companies and their principal shareholder, Mr
Edward C. Johnson.


The Notice states that the below mentioned companies hold a total of
42,355,286 Ordinary Shares of 10p each in MFI Furniture Group PLC on behalf of
various investment companies and institutional clients. The interests were
acquired solely for investment purposes and are held non-beneficially. The are
registered as follows:

06.12.2000, did not include any transaction dates. The disclosable interest is
stated as arising under section 208 (4) (b) or section 203 of the Act.
