                                AGM Statement


MFI Furniture Group Plc holds its Annual General Meeting at 11:00 am today at
The Lincoln Centre, 18 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, WC2A 3ED.

At the meeting, Ian Peacock, Chairman, will make the following comments on
trading:

'Total orders for the Group in the first 19 weeks of the year are ahead of last
year by 15% (up by 9% on a same store basis).  Following a strong Winter sale,
orders for the following five weeks were adversely affected by the impact of the
conflict in Iraq on store footfall.  However we have seen a return to previous
levels of activity over the Easter promotional period.'
