Total Voting Rights

On 10 January 2007 Hiscox Ltd allotted 14,481 shares at an exercise price of
£1.22268 each and 5,058 shares at an exercise price of £1.32166 each under the
Hiscox ShareSave Scheme.

Each of these shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p
shares in issue.

In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6 we
would like to notify the market of the following:

Hiscox Ltd's capital consists of 394,188,447 ordinary shares with voting rights.

Hiscox Ltd holds no shares in Treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Hiscox Ltd is 394,188,447.

The above figure (394,188,447) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Hiscox Ltd under the FSA's
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
