Between 17 and 27 March 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 2,871 ordinary shares of 5p
each at an exercise price of £0.98785 under the Hiscox Sharesave Scheme, and
39,479 ordinary shares of 5p each at an exercise price of £0.806 under the
Hiscox Unapproved Share Option Scheme.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p shares
in issue.

The issued share capital of Hiscox plc is now 392,071,646 ordinary shares of 5p
each.
