On 16 May 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 3,980 shares at an exercise price of £1.755;
and 23,959 shares at an exercise price of £1.252 under the Hiscox Approved Share
Option Scheme.

Hiscox Unapproved Share Option Scheme
On 16 May 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 7,297 shares at an exercise price of £1.755;
58,482 shares at an exercise price of £1.252; 72,135 shares at an exercise price
of £1.465; and 22,559 shares at an exercise price of £0.806 under the Hiscox
Unapproved Share Option Scheme.

Hiscox Sharesave Scheme
On 16 May 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 4,208 shares at an exercise price of
£0.98785; 1,199 shares at £1.22268; and 1,302 shares at £1.32166 under the
Hiscox ShareSave Scheme.

Hiscox International Sharesave Scheme
On 16 May 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 9,005 shares at an exercise price of
€1.57299 under the Hiscox International Sharesave Scheme.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p shares
in issue.

The issued share capital of Hiscox plc is now 392,923,406 ordinary shares of 5p
each.
