On 5 April 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 13,108 shares at an exercise price of
£1.252, and 20,610 shares at an exercise price of £1.465 under the Hiscox
Unapproved Share Option Scheme.

On 5 April 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 7,728 shares at an exercise price of
£1.465, and 17,756 shares at an exercise price of £1.685.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p shares
in issue.

The issued share capital of Hiscox plc is now 392,189,557 ordinary shares of 5p
each.
