Exercise of Unapproved Options

We wish to advise that on 9th June 2005 Hiscox plc allotted 132,040 shares of 5p
each at an exercise price of £1.051, 43,783 shares of 5p each at an exercise
price of £0.831, 150,000 shares at 5p each at an exercise price of £1.51 and
38,310 shares of 5p each at an exercise price of £1.622 under the Unapproved
Share Option Scheme.

Exercise of Approved Options

We wish to advise that on 9th June 2005 Hiscox plc allotted 796 shares of 5p
each at an exercise price of £1.051 and 5,472 shares of 5p each at an exercise
price of £1.622 under the Approved Share Option Scheme.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p shares
in issue.
