The  board  of  Hiscox Plc (the 'Board') has been notified  that  Robert
Hiscox's wife purchased 6,800 ordinary shares in the Company at 88p  per
share  on 25 February 2000.  Accordingly, Robert Hiscox is deemed to  be
interested in 7,619,946 shares or 5.27 per cent. of the Company.

The Board has also been notified that Stephen Hall bought 5,000 ordinary
shares in the Company at 88p per share on 25 February 2000.  After  this
purchase, Stephen Hall is interested in 23,000 shares or 0.02 per  cent.
of the Company.
