Application has been made to the Financial Services Authority and the London
Stock Exchange Plc for a total of 15,000,000 Ordinary shares of 5p each
("shares") to be admitted to the Official List.

These shares are being reserved under block listings and will be issued as a
result of the exercise of share options pursuant to the following schemes:

Hiscox Unapproved Share Option Scheme                   5,000,000
Hiscox Sharesave Scheme                                 5,000,000

shares.
