The Company has today been notified that The Fleming Mercantile Investment
Trust PLC has an interest in 2,500,000 Ordinary Shares of 25p each,
representing 4.04 per cent of the issued share capital of Hill & Smith
Holdings PLC. The shares are registered in the name of Robert Fleming Nominees
Limited.
