                            Lifting of Suspension


On 1 October 2001, Highway Capital plc ('Highway') announced that it had
reached agreement, subject to contract, to acquire the entire issued share
capital of Vector OEM Content Limited. In accordance with the Listing Rules of
the UK Listing Authority, trading in the shares of Highway Capital was
suspended pending despatch of the relevant shareholder documentation.


Unfortunately, the Board of Highway is unable to recommend to shareholders
that they approve the proposed acquisition which, consequently, will not now
proceed. Accordingly, Highway has requested that the suspension be lifted with
effect from the commencement of business on Wednesday 12 December 2001.


The Board of Highway will continue to search for suitable acquisitions.
