                               Board Appointment


The Board of Henderson High Income Trust plc announces that, with immediate
effect, Mr Hugh Twiss has been appointed to the Board.

Mr Twiss (54) is currently a non-executive director of the Invesco Income Growth
Trust plc, as well as a member of the Greenwich Hospital Advisory Panel. He has
also been involved in a number of other consultancy projects. He spent many
years with Flemings/JP Morgan (1978-2001) involved in investment management and
was latterly one of the Investment Directors with responsibility for performance
review and risk monitoring of all Flemings portfolios.
