       NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS OF DIRECTORS AND CONNECTED PARTIES

                HELICAL BAR PLC ('Helical Bar 'or 'the Company')



The Company was informed today that the following transactions had taken place:



1.  Exercise of Share Options



On 24 January 2005 a purchase option over 50,000 ordinary 5p shares in the
Company, held by the Company's Employee Share Ownership Plan Trust, was
exercised, in accordance with the rules of the Helical Bar 1999 Share Option
Scheme, by Gerald Kaye at an exercise price of 442.50p per share.



2.  Sale of Shares



On 24 January 2005 Gerald Kaye sold 50,000 shares at 1271p per share.



3.  Directors' Interests in Shares



Following these transactions Gerald Kaye held 195,070 (1.09%) shares in the
Company.
