HELICAL BAR PLC ('Helical Bar' or 'the Company')

The Company was informed on 30 September 2003 that under the rules of the
Helical Bar plc Share Incentive Plan (the 'Plan'), Helical Bar Trustees Limited
had purchased 3,000 ordinary shares in the Company at 750p per share.  These
shares were purchased using contributions to the Plan by the directors and
employees of the company, matched in a ratio of 2:1 by the Company in accordance
with the Plan rules.
