Transaction in Own Shares

Headlam Group plc ('Headlam') announces that on 4 March 2008, it purchased 
71,558 of its ordinary shares at a price of 368.77 pence per ordinary share.  
These shares are to be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchase and transfer into treasury, the total number of 
Headlam ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 2,304,733 ordinary 
shares held in treasury) is 83,059,010.
