Headlam Group plc ('Headlam')

Appointment of non-executive Director

Headlam, the UK's leading floorcoverings distributor, today announces that it
has appointed Dick Peters as a non-executive director. He will join the Headlam
board with effect from 1 December 2005 at which time he will also be appointed
to the Nominations, Audit and Remuneration Committees.

Dick, aged 51, has just retired as the Senior Partner for the East Midlands
practice of Deloitte & Touche based in Nottingham. He has considerable 
experience of auditing large companies, both UK and overseas, transactional 
support and project management activities

No information is required to be disclosed under paragraphs 9.6.13 of the
Listing Rules.

Commenting on the appointment, Headlam Chairman, Trevor Larman, said:
'We are delighted to welcome Dick Peters to the board as a non-executive
director and believe that his business knowledge and considerable financial and
management expertise will be a positive contribution as the group continues to
develop.'
