TLA signs Olympic beach volleyball star

TLA Worldwide plc (AIM: TLA) ("TLA" or the "Company"), the athlete representation and sports marketing business, has signed up Kerri Walsh Jennings, the three-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medallist.

Kerri will be represented by TLA's Talent Marketing division, which includes other Olympians such as Lolo Jones, Trey Hardee, and J.R. Celski, as well as a vast array of other professional sportsmen and women. 

Kerri Walsh Jennings, who is 34 years old, is an American professional beach volleyball player from California. Walsh Jennings and her teammate, Misty May-Treanor, were the gold medallists in beach volleyball at the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Summer Olympics. They have been called "the greatest beach volleyball team of all time."  After winning the Gold Medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Kerri announced that she competed while in the early stages of pregnancy.  Kerri is due to have her 3^rd child in early April, and will then return to the court this Summer as she begins her journey towards a 4^th straight Olympic Gold Medal at the 2016 Games.

Walsh Jennings started her professional career at Stanford University, where she won national titles in 1996 and 1997 and was a four-year first-team All-American, Final Four MVP in 1996 and co-National Player of the Year in 1999. She played against her teammate (Misty May) in college. Kerri plays professional beach volleyball on the U.S. AVP Tour and internationally on the FIVB World Tour.

Kerri has been praised for her charity work. In 2004, she founded Chase the Stars Foundation "to support the notion that every child should have the opportunity to chase their dream." The organisation supports programmes that "improve the well-being, health, and quality of children's lives."  In 2009, she was nominated for a Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service by an Athlete.

As one of the most successful beach volleyball players in history, Walsh Jennings' career prize earnings top $2 million.   TLA will look to secure marketing partnerships for her with companies which reflect her personal life as the ultimate working mother, and her professional life as an elite athlete and trusted resource in fitness, health, and leading a positive lifestyle.
