                            CHANGES TO DRAX CONTRACT

UK COAL notes the announcement made yesterday by Drax Group Limited and confirms
it has invoked a force majeure clause within the agreements to supply coal to
Drax Power Limited as a result of previously announced geological issues at
nearby collieries. No other customers have been affected.

UK COAL has undertaken to keep the management at Drax fully informed of any
further developments.
