UK COAL plc ('the Company') announces that application has been made to the UK
Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for 2,475,146 ordinary shares of
1 pence each to be admitted to listing. These shares were issued on the exercise
of options under the Sharesave Scheme and awards under the Long-Term Incentive
Plan and rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary
shares in the Company.  It is expected that dealings will commence on Tuesday 21
November 2006.
