                               Additional Listing

UK COAL PLC (the 'Company') announces that application has been made to the UK
Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for 211,130 ordinary shares of 1
pence each to be admitted to listing. These shares were issued to satisfy an
award under the Long Term Incentive Plan and rank pari passu in all respects
with the existing issued ordinary shares in the Company. It is expected that
dealings will commence on 15 October 2007.
