Hargreaves Lansdown - new appointments to executive management team 

Hargreaves Lansdown plc (HL.) is pleased to announce the strengthening of the Group's executive management team through the appointment of three directors to the boards of its subsidiary companies1.

Ian Gorham will be appointed as Chief Operating Officer and will join the Group's Executive Committee with effect from 1st September 2009. He joins from Grant Thornton UK LLP where he is a partner and head of the firm's Financial Services Group.  Ian has significant regulatory knowledge and strong experience in the retail, investment, insurance and IFA markets gained through advising financial services firms.  Ian is a qualified Chartered Accountant, and ran the Regulatory Practice in the South West for a major consultancy before joining Grant Thornton as a Partner in 2003.

Ian Gorham said: 'I am looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities that my new role as Chief Operating Officer will bring. It is a business I have followed with interest and I greatly look forward to working with the management team and the Board.'

Commenting on the appointment, Peter Hargreaves, Chief Executive said: 'We believe that Ian will bring extensive business experience to the Group, and will advise and challenge executive management on all areas of operations. We are delighted that Ian has accepted the appointment and look forward to working with him.'

The Group is also pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Hunter and Nick Marson to the Executive Committee from 1st July 2009.  

Ian Hunter will be appointed as Investment Marketing Director. Ian joined Hargreaves Lansdown in 1997 and is responsible for the marketing of all investment products for the Group. 

Nick Marson will be appointed as Vantage and Broking Operations Director. Nick joined the Group's stockbroking division in 1997 and has since played a key role in the development of Vantage administration and stockbroking operations.
