Purchase of shares for cancellation

Hargreave Hale AIM VCT1 plc announces that on 14 January 2010 it purchased
223,935 Ordinary shares at a price of 57.50 pence per share, on 19 January 2010
it purchased 58,000 Ordinary shares at a price of 57.20 pence per share and on
21 January 2010 it purchased 134,678 Ordinary shares at a price of 57.20 pence
per share, all for cancellation.

Following the purchase and cancellation of the above shares, 26,029,774 ordinary
shares of 1p each will remain in issue (excluding treasury shares).
