Appointment of Director

 

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Kay as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 3 March 2020.

Philip Kay has had a long career in investment banking and investment management. He is a Director of three Asian investment funds: Fidelity Japan Trust PLC, the Akamatsu Bonsai Fund and the CQS Asian Macro Fund. He is a fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford. He is a former Managing Director and Senior Advisor of Credit Suisse First Boston where he ran the firm's global Japanese cash equity business and, prior to this, he was a Director of Schroder Securities Limited and of Smith New Court PLC.

 

Listing Rule 9.6.13R Disclosure

Mr Kay is currently a director of Fidelity Japan PLC, a publicly quoted company.

Mr Kay was an executive director of Akamatsu Fund (a Japanese equity investment fund) until his resignation on 17th January 2020. The Akamatsu Fund was placed into voluntary liquidation because it had become commercially unviable.  

There is no other information regarding Mr Kay that is required to be disclosed under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
