Mr Ronald Richard Spinney, Chairman of Hammerson plc, today (3 April 2001)
exercised options over a total of 47,000 ordinary 25p shares, of which 21,000
were exercised at 390p per share and 26,000 at 347p per share.
 
Mr Spinney then sold all of the resultant shares at 498p each.
 
Following this exercise, Mr Spinney's total holding of options is 161,351.
