Halma p.l.c. announces that on 7 March  2000 it purchased
for cancellation 1,000,000 of its Ordinary shares at a
price of 101p per Ordinary share.

This transaction forms part of the share buy-back
programme announced by Halma p.l.c. in December 1999.
