Halfords Group plc ('the Company') received a notification on 16 April 2007
that, for the purposes of an initial disclosure, Newton Investment Management
Limited, as holder of shares as a discretionary Investment Manager, had a
notifiable interest on 20 January 2007 in 19,400,822 ordinary shares of the
Company.

The Company received a notification on 17 April 2007 that, following an
acquisition of voting rights on 5 April 2007 resulting in a change of threshold,
Newton Investment Management Limited, as holder of shares as a discretionary
Investment Manager, had a notifiable interest on 16 April 2007 in 20,056,984
ordinary shares of the Company, representing 9.10% of the Company's current
issued share capital.
