On 31 August 2001, GUS plc will pay the final dividend in respect of the year
ended 31 March 2001. At the same time shareholders will receive an invitation to
participate in a Dividend Reinvestment Plan with effect from the payment of the
interim dividend for the year ending 31 March 2002.
