GUS plc ('GUS') has today received a notification, dated 5 July 2004, from
Barclays PLC ('Barclays'), pursuant to Sections 198 to 208 of the Companies Act
1985, advising that Barclays no longer holds a notifiable interest in the
ordinary shares of 25p in GUS.
