GUS plc has received notification of the following transactions in its Ordinary
shares by Don Robert (a director of the Company):

On 30 August 2006, Mr Robert exercised options in respect of 145,196 shares in
the Company. The options were granted in June 2003 at a price of 675.5p per
share under the Company's North America Stock Option Plan. Following this
exercise, Mr Robert immediately sold these shares on the London Stock Exchange
at a price of 970.1307p per share.

On 30 August 2006, Mr Robert sold a further 77,374 shares in the Company on the
London Stock Exchange at a price of 969.0291p per share.

This notification was received on 31 August 2006 and was made in accordance with
DR 3.1.4R(1)(b)
