                GULF KEYSTONE PETROLEUM LIMITED (the "Company")

                              DIRECTOR SHAREHOLDING


The Company was informed yesterday by Todd Kozel, a director of the Company,
that on 18 July 2005 he purchased 50,000 common shares of US$0.01 each ("Common
Shares") at a price of US$1.25. Following this purchase, Todd Kozel is
interested in 20,050,000 Common Shares, representing 7.94 per cent. of the
current issued share capital of the Company.
