Dividend Declaration

GOVETT STRATEGIC TRUST PLC

The Directors announce that, as anticipated in the circular to shareholders
dated 17 November 2003, they have resolved to pay:

(i) a second interim dividend of 1.88 pence per ordinary share in respect of the
period from 24 July 2002 to 30 September 2003; and

(ii) a special interim dividend of 0.70 pence per ordinary share in respect of
the period from 1 October 2003 to 22 December 2003, (conditional only upon
compliance with all relevant provisions of the Companies Act 1985 in respect of
this special interim dividend in advance of 18 December 2003)

Both dividends will be paid on 18 December 2003 to all persons registered as
holders of ordinary shares of the company at the close of business on 5 December
2003.
