GSK Share Re-purchases

GlaxoSmithKline announces that, in accordance with the authority granted by
shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on 20 May 2002, on 5 June 2002 it
purchased for cancellation 1,562,800 of its ordinary shares at a price of
1397.200p per share and 3,600,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of
1366.3808p per share.
