GlaxoSmithKline plc in respect of the under-mentioned director:-

Dr J P  The Administrators of the SmithKline Beecham US Retirement Savings Plan
Garnier notified GlaxoSmithKline plc on 21 September 2001 that Dr Garnier had
        increased his interest by 7 Ordinary Share ADRs at a price of $51.5500
        per share on the 17 September 2001. Dr Garnier was also notified of
        this change on 17 September 2001.
