I give below details of changes in interests in the Ordinary Shares of
GlaxoSmithKline plc in respect of the under-mentioned director:-

Dr J P  The Administrators of the SmithKline Beecham US Retirement Savings Plan
Garnier notified GlaxoSmithKline plc on 5th February 2001 that Dr Garnier had
        increased his interest by 41 Ordinary Share ADRs at a price of $53.0500
        per share on the 2nd February 2001. Dr Garnier was also notified of
        these changes on 5th February 2001.
