GlaxoSmithKline plc in respect of the under-mentioned Person Discharging
Managerial Responsibility:-


John Clarke              Exercise of options on 24 September 2007 over 19,664 
                         Ordinary shares granted on 30 October 1997 under the 
                         SmithKline Beecham Employee Share Option Plan 1991 
                         at a price of £12.28 per share;

                         The sale of 19,664 Ordinary shares on 24 September 
                         2007 at a price of £13.26 per share.


The Company was advised of these transactions on 25 September 2007.

This notification relates to a transaction notified in accordance with
Disclosure and Transparency Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a).
