Greggs PLC ('the Company') has received notice under s324 Companies Act of the
following changes to directors' interests: 

1)  On the 13th March 2000, Mike Darrington acquired options over 27,900
ordinary shares in the Company under the 1996 Executive Share Option Scheme at
an option price of £17.015 per share.

2)  On the 13th March 2000, Malcolm Simpson acquired options over 18,600
ordinary shares in the Company under the 1996 Executive Share Option Scheme at
an option price of £17.015 per share
