On the 10 April 2003 Greggs plc was notified that:

        (a)     on the 9 April 2003, Malcolm Simpson, a director of the Company
        exercised a share option in the Company, and acquired 6,200 ordinary
        shares of 20p each in the Company at a price of £17.015 per share (0.05%
        of the issued share capital).

        (b)     on the 9 April 2003, Malcolm Simpson disposed of 6,200 ordinary
        shares of 20p each in the Company at a price of £29. 50 per share.

        (c)     on the 10 April 2003, Malcolm Simpson, purchased 3,100 ordinary
        shares of 20p each in the Company at a price of £29.66 per share (0.026%
        of the issued share capital).

        (d)     on the 10 April 2003, the spouse of Malcolm Simpson, purchased
        3,100 ordinary shares of 20p each in the Company at a price of £29.66
        per share.

interests on share options) as at 10 April 2003 following this notification
