BOARD CHANGES AT GREENCORE GROUP PLC ("GREENCORE")

 

 

The Board of Greencore announced today that it has co-opted Mr. Eric Nicoli CBE as a non-executive director of the company with immediate effect. Mr. Nicoli (59) is chairman of Vue Entertainment Ltd, one of the UK's leading cinema operators, and senior partner of Sunningdale Capital LLP, a new fund of hedge funds. He is also a director and chairman of a number of private companies.  He spent 17 years leading large public companies, as chief executive of United Biscuits (Holdings) plc from 1991 until 1999 and then as chairman and chief executive of EMI Group plc until 2007 when the business was sold to a leading private equity firm.

 

There are no disclosures to be made in respect of Mr. Nicoli pursuant to Section 6.6.7 (1)-(6) of the Listing Rules.

 

 

Commenting on this addition to the Board, Greencore's chairman, Ned Sullivan, said: "We are thrilled that someone of Eric Nicoli's calibre and standing has accepted our invitation to join Greencore's Board. He has extensive knowledge of the food industry and is well known for his creative approach and innovative thinking. In addition, the Board has appointed Mr. Conor O'Leary (41) as group company secretary designate to replace Ms. Caroline Bergin who is leaving the group to take up a similar position with NTR plc.  Conor O'Leary has been deputy company secretary since 2005 having joined the group in 2001. Prior to that he was assistant company secretary with Cable & Wireless and Glanbia plc.
