BOARD APPOINTMENT AT GREENCORE GROUP PLC ('GREENCORE')

The Board of Greencore announced today that it has co-opted Mr John Herlihy (41) as a non-executive director of the company with immediate effect.  Mr Herlihy is Vice President, Online Sales & Operations, EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) at Google Inc., where he is responsible for extensive operations including those in Ireland and Poland.

In his role at Google, John leads online sales and operations focused on the company's SME customers in over 100 countries.  He joined Google in 2005 to grow its online sales footprint in new and existing markets and build its online operations structure across the EMEA region.

Previously, John held senior management positions at global technology companies including First Data (US and EMEA), Epiphany (US and Asia-Pacific) and Oracle Corporation (US and EMEA).

There are no disclosures to be made in respect of Mr Herlihy pursuant to Section 6.6.7 (1)-(6) of the Listing Rules.

Commenting on this addition to the Board, Greencore's chairman, Ned Sullivan said:

'John's appointment brings strategic insight, fresh 'consumer' thinking and a truly international perspective to the Greencore Board, skills which are particularly apt in today's business environment.  In particular, his international experience and first hand exposure to the US consumer market will be an important asset as the Group builds out its presence in the US market'.
