                            Resignation of Director


Greatland  Gold  plc  (the  "Company"),  the mineral exploration and development
company  focused on gold  projects in Tasmania  and Western Australia, announces
the retirement as a director of Paul Askins with effect from 1 November 2011.

The board of the Company would like to express its gratitude to Mr Askins for
his work on behalf of the Company since its admission to AIM in 2006 and to wish
him well for the future.
