GREATLAND GOLD PLC
Firetower Drilling Results and Warrentinna Activities
Dated: 6 February 2007
Greatland Gold plc (the 'Company') the mineral exploration and development
company focused on gold projects in Tasmania and Western Australia is pleased to
announce further analytical results from diamond core drilling at Firetower.
Significant intercepts up to 13.34g/t gold have been returned along with 1.2%
lead and elevated copper and tungsten.
Firetower
Drilling was within the resource area at Firetower and higher grade zones,
surrounded by lower grade halos, continue to be defined. Drillhole collars are
presented in Table 1.

Several significant intercepts were returned. Better intercepts include 11m at
4.29g/t gold including 1m at 13.34g/t gold, 10.1m at 6.20g/t gold including 1m
at 10.09g/t gold, 2m at 8.00g/t gold, 1m at 12.20g/t gold and 1m at 10.81g/t
gold (Table 2). These results confirm higher grade plunging shoots within the
larger mineralised system at Firetower. Base metal mineralisation is also
present with results including 1.2% lead, 0.9% copper and 0.5% zinc. Highly
anomalous tungsten intercepts continue to be returned. High gold grades, and
accompanying base metal and tungsten intercepts, support our continued efforts
at Firetower.
Mapping and surface sampling is ongoing at Firetower to locate surface
indications of mineralisation and help plan further drill targets. Surface
sampling has been successful in returning rock chip results up to 2.5g/t gold
from immediately west of previously recognised mineralisation. This is
significant as it had been previously thought that the only considerable
apparent potential was to the east. However this new analysis indicates the
strike also extends west, enlarging the area of mineralisation.

Importantly, mineralisation is shallow at Firetower with good grades starting at
surface. Results are awaited for further drillholes and these will be reported
during the current quarter.
Other Activities at Firetower
Surface sampling at the Firetower West prospect, a separate area 2.5km northwest
of the Firetower resource, is complete. Results outline mineralisation over a
large 2km x 1km area with surface grades peaking at over 100ppb gold. Strong
base metal anomalism is also apparent. First pass diamond core drilling of
targets within this large area has commenced.
Three other regional target areas in the east of the project area remain to be
followed up with surface sampling.
Warrentinna
At the Warrentinna project, located in north-eastern Tasmania, surface sampling
has been completed to determine the extent of the Derby-Mara goldfields and the
trends within the Forester-Linton areas. Results have returned high-grade gold
values in addition to extending the previously identified mineralisation. Soil
results up to 1,308ppb gold at Derby-Mara, and 66.5ppb gold at Forester-Linton
were returned. The high-grade nature of surface sample results is encouraging.
First pass drill testing of targets at the Warrentinna project is planned for
the current quarter.
Competent Persons
The information in this announcement that relates to Exploration Results is
based on information compiled by Mr Paul Askins and Mr Callum Baxter, directors
of Greatland Gold, who are both members of the Australasian Institute of Mining
and Metallurgy. Paul Askins and Callum Baxter have sufficient experience which
is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under
consideration and to the activity that they are undertaking to qualify as
Competent Persons as defined in the 2004 Edition of the 'Australasian Code for
Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves'. Paul
Askins and Callum Baxter consent to the inclusion in the announcement of the
matters based on their information in the form and context in which it appears.
All diamond drilling results are obtained from half NQ core. All samples are
prepared at Genalysis Laboratory Services' Adelaide facility using a single
stage pulverisation, and assayed at Genalysis Laboratory Services' Perth
laboratory. A 50g lead collection fire assay digest with atomic absorption
spectrometry (AAS) analysis technique is used for gold, and a Four Acid
(hydrofluoric, nitric, perchloric and hydrochloric) digest with an Optical
Emission Spectrometry (OES) finish for other elements. Full quality control is
achieved using a suite of standards, duplicates, repeats and blanks.
The spatial location of samples is derived using by registered surveyor using a
total station theodelite and classical surveying methods based on geodetic trig
station control, and Eastman single shot downhole or north seeking gyro surveys.
Stated co-ordinates are based on the Australian Map Grid 1966, Zone 55 (AGD66
Zone 55).
