Timetable for Capital Reduction, Return of Capital and Share
Consolidation

Further to the approval by Shareholders of the Capital
Reduction, Return of Capital and Share Consolidation, given on
Friday 26 May 2000, and the subsequent announcement on 21
August 2000, Great Portland Estates P.L.C. ('Great Portland')
confirms the following timetable, subject to approval by the
Court, for the Capital Reduction, Return of Capital and Share
Consolidation:

* Record date for the Capital Reduction, Return of
Capital and Share Consolidation on Tuesday 5 September 2000

* Court petition date to confirm Capital Reduction and Return
of Capital on Wednesday 6 September 2000

* Last day of dealings in Existing Ordinary Shares on Friday 8
September 2000

* First day of dealings in New Ordinary Shares marked ex
Return of Capital and Share Consolidation on Monday 11
September 2000

* New share certificates sent to Shareholders on Friday 15
September 2000

* Cheques for payment of the Return of Capital and sale of
fractional cash elements arising under the Share Consolidation
to be sent to Shareholders on Wednesday 20 September 2000

The decision by the Court is expected to be announced on
Thursday 7 September 2000.

given them in Great Portland's circular dated 18 April 2000.
