Board Appointment

Mr Charles Irby, aged 58, has been appointed as a non-executive director of
Great Portland Estates plc, with effect from 1 April 2004.

Mr Irby is Chairman of Aberdeen Asset Management Plc, and a
non-executive director of North Atlantic Smaller Companies Investment Trust Plc,
and QBE Insurance Group Limited.

He is a former member of the Takeover Panel, and was head of corporate finance
at ING Barings from 1992 to 1999.
