New EcoPower service launch

Gas Turbine Efficiency PLC 19 July 2006 19 July 2006 Gas Turbine Efficiency plc Pratt & Whitney to launch EcoPower service at Schiphol with Martinair FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW, UK: Gas Turbine Efficiency plc ('GTE' or 'the Company'), a leading supplier of advanced high pressure gas turbine cleaning systems, announces that Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners ('Pratt & Whitney') is to offer its innovative EcoPower aircraft engine wash services at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport with Martinair as its European launch customer. Pratt & Whitney is GTE's global partner in the aviation sector and has exclusive use of the Company's cleaning systems for aero-engine wash services under a long term royalty sharing agreement. EcoPower's launch at Schiphol follows the successful completion of a pilot program with Martinair involving the Amsterdam-based airline's fleet of PW4000 engines. As a result, Pratt & Whitney now expects to provide EcoPower engine washes to Martinair's entire fleet as well as to other airlines that fly into Schiphol. Paul Horstink, vice president Maintenance & Engineering at Martinair said: 'The EcoPower pilot program met all of our desired results, and we are very happy with how well it cleans our engines. We now plan to clean all of our engines regularly with this new method, being the first airline in the Netherlands to take this environmentally friendly approach.' The engine washing process is a closed-loop, environmentally friendly system that uses atomized water to wash aircraft engines. Not only does the system avoid potentially harmful run-off from the washing process, but it also is more effective and much faster than traditional engine washing processes. EcoPower improves engine performance and extends time on wing for operators of Pratt & Whitney, GE, IAE, CFMI and Rolls Royce engines. EcoPower wash can reduce fuel burn by as much as 1 percent and increase engine EGT (exhaust gas temperature) margin by as much as 15 degrees C. Steven Zwolinski, chief executive of GTE, commented, 'We are delighted that EcoPower will soon launch its services at Schiphol with Martinair as the launch customer. This is a further validation of our strong partnership with Pratt & Whiney and the benefits of our advanced technology to airlines worldwide.'
