                     Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Grafton Group plc announces that there is no information to disclose under
Listing Rule 6.6.13 in respect of Mr. Roderick Ryan, whose appointment to the
board of directors with effect from 15 March 2006 was announced today with the
Group's Final Results for 2005.


Mr. Ryan held a beneficial interest in 25,000 Grafton Units on his appointment
to the Board.
