Good Energy Group plc announces provisional approval for its 49.9MW solar farm in Norfolk.

Good Energy Group plc ("Good Energy" or "the Group"), the AIM quoted renewable electricity supplier, is pleased to announce that provisional planning consent was granted on 19th December for a 49.9MW solar farm in Norfolk. The resolution by the planning committee at North Norfolk District Council is subject to appropriate conditions and legal agreements being put in place before formal consent can be granted for the proposed solar park on a disused airfield at West Raynham near Fakenham.

The proposed solar park would generate enough electricity to supply around 11,287 homes.

Juliet Davenport, OBE, Founder and CEO of Good Energy commented:

"This site will not only help Norfolk achieve its renewable energy targets, but will also see benefits to local people via a community fund and to the surrounding environment with a bespoke ecological plan for the site which has been disused for almost 20 years.

"It will also help Good Energy deliver its commitment to greater energy security and stability in the UK."

Good Energy recognises the historical significance of the airfield and is happy to comply with a unilateral undertaking that will offer £25,000 towards the repair of the nearby Grade II listed control tower.
