                  Notification of Interim Results Announcement


On behalf of our client, Gooch & Housego PLC, the specialist manufacturer of
acousto-optic and electro-optic devices, precision optical components, crystals,
and instruments for measuring optical radiation, we notify the London Stock
Exchange that the Company will be announcing its interim results for the six
months ended 31 March 2004 on Thursday, 17 June 2004.

An analyst briefing will be held at 09.30 am and a press briefing at 11.00 am at
Buchanan Communications, 107 Cheapside, London, EC2 on Thursday, 17 June 2004.
