Gooch & Housego Plc hereby confirm that they have been notified by
Mr A.W. Gooch, Executive Chairman, that he has sold 10,000 ordinary shares at
460p and 25,000 ordinary shares at 400p. Mr A.W. Gooch's holding is now
1,734,598 shares which represent 10.26% of the total issued share capital of
Gooch & Housego Plc.
