Gooch & Housego PLC announces that it was yesterday informed that Mr Archie
Gooch, Chairman, disposed of 500,000 shares in the Company at a price of 122
pence per share on 10 June 2003.  Following this disposal Mr Gooch now holds
1,158,353 shares in the Company representing approximately 6.44 per cent. of the
issued share capital.

Gooch & Housego also announces that it was yesterday informed that Mrs Heather
Virgin, Personnel Director, disposed of 500,000 shares in the Company at a price
of 122 pence per share on 10 June 2003.  Following this disposal Mrs Virgin now
holds 2,733,226 shares in the Company representing approximately 15.19 per cent.
of the issued share capital.

The Company was also yesterday informed that Mr Gareth Jones, Chief Executive
purchased 8,000 shares in the company at a price of 122 pence per share on 10
June 2003.  Mr Jones now holds 8,000 shares in the Company representing
approximately 0.04 per cent. of the issued share capital.
