FOR: GENESIS WORLDWIDE INC. TSX, AIM SYMBOL: GWI January 21, 2009 Genesis Products Division Continues Expansion Into Affordable Housing Market MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 21, 2009) - Genesis Worldwide Inc. ("Genesis" or the "Company"), (TSX:GWI)(AIM:GWI), a leading provider of "green" building technologies, is pleased to announce that its Genesis Products Division and subsidiary, KML Building Solutions ("KML"), has been contracted to build green affordable housing units in western Ontario, Canada, for low-income families. The project is for the construction of a three-storey, thirty-nine unit, apartment building. The Board of Directors and management of Genesis believe that current economic conditions make the affordable housing market an even more important one for builders, and the Company continues to make progress in that market segment. This is the second contract in the affordable housing market won by Genesis in the last six months. It represents more growth potential for KML, and ultimately Genesis, in that it is the second significant project for KML in this particular market segment. It is also noteworthy because the competition for this project was against traditional wood construction. Using the Genesis Solution, KML will manufacture and install all the light steel framing needs, including the Genesis Wall Panel System and Genesis iSPAN(TM) Floor System, for the government subsidized mid-rise multi-family structure in this southwestern Ontario community. Production of the light steel wall panels will begin at KML's Vaughan facility, with onsite work to begin this month. The estimated completion date for KML's portion of the construction is during the second quarter of 2009. Genesis' light steel structural building technology is environmentally conscious and energy efficient, as well as being fire resistant, providing a safe living environment. Air quality remains superior because light steel buildings are allergen-free, mould-free and toxin-free. As with previous projects of this type in southern Ontario, the Genesis Solution fits especially well where there are multiple family units connected, and when combustibility and sound are concerns. Materials for this project will be precision cut at the KML factory for easy assembly. Light gauge steel materials are more economical than traditional construction materials, with far less waste. Importantly, high-quality residences will be built in far less time. In short, Genesis provides an easily transportable building system which is of the highest environmental standards and is also affordable because of the use of cost-effective materials and a unique and economical manufacturing process. About KML Building Solutions KML utilizes Genesis' framing technology to provide builders with higher quality, faster and more cost effective framing solutions than the traditional framing methods of the past. Innovative light steel building materials and a fully integrated "turn-key approach" to framing construction sets KML apart and provides builders with a more simplified building process with considerably less risk. KML has become a leading light steel framing innovator and provider focused on the Ontario, Canada market, and has constructed over 400 projects totaling approximately ten million square feet. KML's manufacturing facility is located in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada and is Genesis' first Canadian licensee. For additional information about KML, visit www.kmlbuildingsolutions.com.
